To start with, I wanted to do something simple and not too complicated. I went to Thingiverse.com because Ms. Proctor said its a good website to find ideas. I ended finding a simple and pretty cool phone holder. Since the phone holder was pretty simple, and you could pretty much buy it off of Amazon or something, so Ms. Proctor suggested that I personalize it. So then I decided to write "Primos 4 Life". Primos means cousins in Spanish. At the end, I was pretty satisfied with my final product.
Just like any 3D printing project, I opened Inventor and started drawing the phone holder using the line tool. And then made it measure 5 inches. The size limit less than 5x5 in.
This is the phone holder without the "Primos 4 Life" extruded, but with the charger hole already extruded.
Here the text has been extruded. And I also smoothed the edges down.
This is the phone holder in MakerBot ready to be printed out
Here the 3D printer is printing the raft for the phone holder.
I'm pretty happy with how my project turned out. There were a few complications in extruding the writting. But besides that, I am pretty happy! :)
